Sunday we went out to my grandparents' house in Alabama to celebrate my granddad's 89th birthday. It was a pot luck style gathering, and I offered to bring the birthday cake as my dish. So this is the second cake I had to do last weekend.
I had every intention of doing something a bit more elaborate, but if you read my last cake post, you understand why we were doing good to get a cake at all.
Anyway, it was really nice to get to see all of my aunts and uncles. And I do mean all of them. All seven of my grandparents' children were there with them Sunday. Here they all are with Grandmother and Granddaddy.
And of course these two couldn't even wait until the end of the photo shoot to be joined at the hip again. :)
My Aunt Sarah was up from St. Petersburg to visit, and she and Cannon did some walking.
The weather was really nice, so of course we spent a lot of the day outside. I just can't get over the transformation of that place. I mentioned it before, but so much work has gone into cleaning up and clearing out the area around their lake. It is so very enjoyable now. I just love it. There was a nice breeze that day and it was really nice just to sit in the grass by the lake with my parents and little boys.
Much of the afternoon was spent on the front porch, again enjoying the weather and each other's company.
Cannon was doing a good job of putting a smile on everyone's face.
Bennett loves his Aunt Nancy. The two of them rode and rode on that golf cart. They swung by one time and picked me up.
When Bennett wanted to go faster, this is all he had to do. Watch your toes, Aunt Nancy!
Fun day. Looking forward to doing it again.
