Quack, Quack?

Bennett and I made our first trip to the park yesterday. I have been saving up old bread in the freezer, waiting for the weather to warm up enough to go to the park and feed the ducks. Well, Daddy informed me yesterday morning that it was supposed to get up to 64 degrees that afternoon, so the day at the park came sooner than I had expected!

Bennett was amazed. He absolutely loved looking at all of those ducks. He wanted to touch them so bad and they might have let him, but I was afraid they'd take off his finger, so I kept him a good distance from them. I can remember those ducks (well, probably their ancestors) almost attacking me and Jeff and Greg as children. We used to sit on the hood of the car and feed them from there.

Each night before Bennett goes to bed, we read a couple of books. One is usually about animals, because he enjoys listening to me (try to) make the sounds each animal makes. Well, each time we come to the duck I say, "quack, quack," of course. Each time we come to the goose I am a little stumped. What does a goose say? I just wind up saying "quack, quack" to that one too.

We both got a lesson in goose talk yesterday.

Now Josh is going to come running upstairs at night to make sure I'm not dying in Bennett's room when I read him the animal book.

Maybe next we can go to the zoo and I'll figure out exactly what it is an elephant says, a giraffe, and how to differentiate between the roars of the lion, tiger and bear.

haha-I watched that with all three of my dogs lying next to me and little leyna looked up and looked at the screen and started cocking her head back and forth! I expected them to freak out more than that, but maybe they knew it was just a goose...
