For some reason, I have had a hard letting go of my college notes, folders and textbooks. Don't ask me why, but I just feel like I want to keep those. I always feel like I might one day go back and look through them and either re-learn something or find out things about myself that I had forgotten. Does that make sense? I doodled a lot. Whenever I took a class with a friend, we wrote notes back and forth on each others' notebooks. A lot.
Well, I knew this was in there somewhere, I just didn't know where. I can't believe I actually found it. You have no idea how many folders and notebooks I have saved from college. It's a little ridiculous.
For all of you who didn't believe us when we said we have had our children's names picked out for almost ten years, here is proof!
It's a little hard to see, but I gave close-ups of the important parts. The erased parts are there because I'm not quite ready to give out the name of our first daughter, if we have one. Yes, we still plan on using the name we picked then (although we have just recently come across another name we like.)
And here, a close-up of the whole family.
Let me explain a couple things. First of all, Josh and I had only really been dating for a few months at this point, so you can't get too mad at me for misspelling his middle name. I don't know why I did that, though, because I generally prefer "Steven" spelled with a "ph." I don't know why I would have assumed it was spelled with a "v."
Also, (Lauren) I don't know if we ever told anyone that we were considering having a "Mac." Again, I have no idea why here it says "McArthur," because the "Mac" was going to be short for "McLeod." For one reason or another, we did ultimately decide not to have a Mac, but we are happy to have one in the family anyway!
I remember Josh finding this page one day when he was looking through my notes (we took a couple of the same classes and studied together). I got really mad at him for looking at it. I wasn't really as mad as I was embarrassed. Yeah, we had talked about names, but I'm sure he didn't know I was already mapping out our family tree!
