New Post! - Wait, Nevermind.

Josh is spending the night with some friends in Atlanta tonight, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to put up some new pictures of Bennett. Actually, my first thought was that I'd go straight to bed after putting Bennett down at 8:15. Then I decided I could make it to 9:00 so I could post something. Anything.

I have been a total facebook and blogger slacker lately! Even though I've started feeling a lot better, I have to say that my energy levels are still up and down. Mostly down. So I get on here and go, 'What could I say? I have nothing interesting to talk about. Maybe I'll just catch up on some of my blogs. Nah, I'll just check Lauren's and Tray's (family)... but only if they're short posts.' I mean, really, that's what I do. And facebook is the same thing. Just a quick skim and I'm outta there with no update for myself.

Anyway, Greg was over the other day and he took some shots of Bennett in Grandpa's yard under the gorgeous yellow maple that is dropping its beautiful yellowy orange leaves all over the yard. So I was going to at least put up a few of those and tell you how it was a nice time just playing in the leaves and throwing the football.

Well, what d'ya know? I uploaded them onto Josh's laptop that night before Greg left because our printer wasn't loving his memory card for some reason, so I couldn't get them on our desktop. Guess where that laptop is. With Josh. In Atlanta.

So now instead of putting up a new post with cute pictures, I've only told you how blah I've been lately and that I haven't really been keeping up with anyone and how now it's 9:10 and I'm exhausted and goodnight.

Baby making is hard.

Video

This is a video from the other night when we had the girls. I meant to put it in the previous post but forgot about it. I think it's adorable, so here you go:

*Oh, and pardon Josh's football excitement.

Fun Fall Day

Josh and I kept Greg and Cici's girls last night and part of today and got some fun pictures of all the stuff we did. Nothing terribly exciting, as we didn't leave the property, but we still had a good time.

Before Malia and Elizabeth got here yesterday, Daddy and Bennett gathered some leaves and sticks for the bonfire we had later.

Bennett and Elizabeth had loads of fun playing with Josh on the couch.

And then they got together for a very serious game of (whatever those things are called).

After a fairly rough night (I suspect Bennett may be getting some molars in), we had pancakes and bacon this morning for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed them very much, especially cheeseball Bennett. It's so funny to me that in some pictures he really looks like he's starting to slim down and lose some of that baby fat, and in others.... well, not so much.

After breakfast we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful day that was today! Man, we enjoyed this weather.

Then Josh filled up the wagon with little ones and took them for a fun ride up and down the driveway. Over and over and over...

... and tried a couple times to dump his cargo. Some loved it (Malia), some hated it (Bennett), and some were completely indifferent (Elizabeth).

We had a really good time just enjoying the day and each other's company.

I was sad that Bennett didn't get to see his other cousins Mac and Rachael on Friday like we had planned. Right before his nap Friday, Bennett kind of had a little fit, refused his lunch and wound up with a fever of 102. So I gave him some Tylenol, put him down for his nap and called Lauren. I hated to cancel, but I would have hated if anything had been passed along to any of them.

Of course, as soon as Bennett woke up he seemed fine. He still felt warm for a little bit, but he was eventually back to his normal self. I really think it may be teething since he's been having trouble sleeping the last few nights; last night being the worst. Ugh. Hopefully it won't be a long, drawn out thing.

Supper Time

I was going through some photos on the computer today and came across these. They're from July, but I love them and think they're worth sharing.

Bennett feeding Poppa his supper:

The tomato he could handle, but Daddy is wondering how he's going to eat that pork chop in one bite.

Oh, how these pictures make me miss fried squash already!

"You're Starting to Look Good Again"

That's what Josh said to me last night.

At first it sounds like a compliment, but it's one of those things that makes you go - wait a minute, was that a compliment? Because even though it's nice that I'm apparently looking good lately, that means that I've been looking not-so-good up until now.

Of course, all he meant was that I'm beginning to carry that pregnancy glow around with me. I always said I've never felt better than when I was pregnant with Bennett, and according to Josh I've never looked better either (well, maybe in college). It's partly due to the healthy eating habits I adopted while pregnant, partly due to the super-charged prenatal vitamins and fish oil that I took, and partly due to those good ol' raging hormones and increased blood volume.

So I guess all of those things have had time to sink in and leave their mark again on my skin, hair and nails. It is a rather nice side effect of pregnancy.
